The Bureau of Land Management and the Department of Interior recently approved a project to construct and develop the biggest solar panel in US history. The Secretary of the Interior agreed to sign the Record of Decision to enable Solar Partners XI, LLC to construct a facility for generating solar energy. The facility should have a capacity of 690MW and should have ancillary facilities 30 miles northwest of Las Vegas.

Nevada to Become Home of the Largest Solar Panel Facility
Nevada will soon become home to the largest facility for production and generation of solar energy in the US. The CEO of the Solar Energy Industry Association, Abigail Ross Hopper, claims that despite the coronavirus outbreak and the crisis that followed, the association is pleased to see the largest solar energy facility in the US emerging in Nevada. Hopper further claims that the construction of such buildings will bring numerous benefits through investments and new job openings.
New Investments and Job Openings
As Hopper, the CEO of the Solar Energy Industry Association claims, the industry of solar energy is resilient. Furthermore, the new project that will become the largest solar energy facility in the US should provide new job openings and bring new investments to the state, which will consequently bring positive changes in terms of economic impact.
Environmental Benefits and Economic Impact
The construction of the project should also bring benefits and make a positive economic impact in the US. There should be over 712 million dollars injected into the economy through wages for construction workers that will be working on the construction of the solar energy facility. There should be an average of 500 to 700 workers on the construction site at any time, while the project should bring 1,100 job positions for the local demographics. The first phase of power should already arrive in 2021, while the completion of the project is expected in 2022.
