Shortage of N95 Masks in the US During the Coronavirus Outbreak
With the announced state of emergency, the US is struggling with a shortage of N95 masks that are known for the ability to block the minimum of 95% of all 0.3 microns, thus making the masks more than efficient in combating Coronavirus pandemics. Construction workers use these masks on construction sites to prevent inhaling harmful substances such as concrete dust for instance. The supply of these masks at the current moment is rather low, while demand for N95 masks is at the same time extremely high. Most people shouldn’t even wear these masks as they are not endangered and they don’t need them as WHO suggested. However, people kept buying masks in stocks which initially led to the shortage of a product essential for hospital workers in the times of Coronavirus outbreak.
N95 Masks Sold Out at Stores
The shortage became a fact as there are barely any N95 masks to be bought at stores such as Home Depot for example. As almost all supplies have been sold out, the White House is asking construction companies to stop stockpiling on N5 masks as the shortage is still on the force. Previously, the rest of the population that went on a shopping craze in fear of facing a shortage, was in the first place the thing that caused the shortage in the first place. Hospitals require this equipment which is why Vice President asked construction companies to donate their supplies.
