Thousands Getting Back to Work as Construction is Resuming

Thousands of construction workers operating in Seattle will be getting back to work at the beginning of May as Governor Inslee removed restrictions on many construction projects. Guidelines on preventing the spreading of COVID-19 and protecting public health are now far less restrictive. That is how many construction workers were able to get back to work as soon as Monday, April 27th, as numerous construction companies are following the latest guidelines and resuming businesses. Previously, construction projects were resumed in Pennsylvania as the country’s Governor stated that the construction represents an essential business. Moreover, as stated, the statistics related to COVID-19 infection rates are going in favor of resuming the economy and slowly providing relief for restrictions.

Seattle to Restart Constructions: Construction Workers Getting Back to Sites

Although construction is boldly resuming many projects, Governor removed a complete halt only for projects that are considered to be low-risk. Still, thousands of construction workers will get a chance to get back to work. High-risk construction is still pending for approval and more positive stats indicating that pandemic does have an end. For now, all residential and commercial construction may resume starting from April 27th. The condition that will keep these businesses running is seen in the form of released guidelines on protecting public health.

Contractors Need to Follow Guidelines to Keep Construction Sites Open

As construction companies are finally getting some relief with the lowered restrictions, contractors still need to give their best to follow up with guidelines to be able to keep construction sites open. All workers need to wear protective equipment while all construction workers need to operate 6 feet apart from each other. Cleaning commonly used and shared tools and rooms are also listed as one of the mandatory steps in protecting employees’ health.
