Rebuilding a 1-Story Prefab Home into a 3-Story House with Module

Module, a housing startup, is developing and designing prefabrication homes that can be rebuilt from 1-story objects to 3-story comfortable homes. All home models developed and designed by this startup are created to offer the option to change and rebuild. As a family is growing, prefab homes may grow as well with the rising need for more room and the declining number of homes in the housing inventory. Adaptability is one of the core strengths of Module’s home designs and is said to be a flexible and cost-efficient solution amidst the housing crisis in the US.

The Future of Prefabricated Homes with Module Startup

The company Module, based in Pittsburgh, is offering prefabricated homes in several different models and designs. Home prices at Module are ranging from 220,000$ to 465,000$ and are advertised as some of the most efficient and cost-effective solutions in the US housing market. The company is currently testing a new design – a removable roof. The design should come as a response to the growing demand or homes and a handy way for a growing family to rebuild a home.

Adaptable and Cost-efficient Construction: Modular Building

Module startup is testing modular construction techniques to design a removable roof that would enable efficient and cost-effective expansion of prefabricated homes designed by the startup. Brian Gaudio, the founder, and CEO of the startup claims that the module could be easily removed to add another story to a prefab home as easily as placing a LEGO brick.

6 Prefab Home Models by Modular

According to the official Module website, the startup offers six different models of prefab homes, among which is a three-bedroom duplex, three-bedroom home, and a two-bedroom home that can be purchased at an affordable price of 183,000$. Prefab homes are transported to the site where construction workers only need to assemble all modules, cutting the time needed for on-site work in traditional construction.
