Some of the biggest challenges in the industry of construction are most certainly efficiency, the ability to respond to deadlines, and predicting potential outcomes that could postpone the final delivery of a construction project. The fact that the industry is notoriously known for slow tech adoption is partially fueling these challenges. However, companies such as Israel-based CaStory are looking into bringing tech innovation to construction with simple but smart solutions for improved efficiency and the goal to prevent construction defects.

CaStory Solutions: Smart Algorithm and 360-degree Cameras in Construction
Initially, construction companies are turning to manual detection of defects in construction that could delay the delivery, decrease efficiency, and lead to increased costs of construction. CaStory is offering solutions that should save the industry time and money in the sense of diminishing the need for repetitive tests and repairs. Tom Yitav, CEO of CaStory states that the company is developing a structured process that would eliminate the need for repairs, reduce mistakes, save time, contribute to efficiency, and cut project costs. The ultimate goal would be to create a controlled, digital environment out of construction sites. CaStory is using 360-degree cameras and smart algorithms to achieve this.
Visuals and Tech Tools to Address Construction Challenges
CaStory software supports architectural blueprints, so contractors can upload blueprints directly into the system. Combining wearables and 360-degree cameras, on-site workers can scan the inside of the building directly on the terrain, sending visual feedback to the system and creating a faithful image of the site. The system analyzes the collected data, reports on deficiencies, and identified defects to improve efficiency.
The Lack of Qualified Personnel in Construction and Solutions
Coming from a family of contractors and construction workers Yitav became aware of some of the main challenges in construction. Many of these challenges were directly related to the lack of qualified personnel. With the CaStory system, the lack of qualified personnel losses the potential impact it has on the overall success of construction processes.
