The List of Largest Homebuilders in the US: Here Are the Top Home Building Companies of 2020

Amidst the crisis caused by the outbreak of COVID-19 and the potential second wave of the virus, whether construction and real estate are essential is widely debated. As construction remains one of the top industries in the US and the world, the topic on the matter is hot. Activity is disrupted while employment in construction dropped by 29,000 in mid-March 2020 according to the National Associated of Home Builders. With layoffs and amidst strict protective measures such as social distancing, construction remains active. What are some of the largest homebuilders in the US and what is happening with construction in the post period of the first wave of COVID-19?

    Construction Activity Disrupted

The National Association of Homebuilders released a report by far biggest declines in construction activity. The industry has seen a great number of layoffs in April as well. Moreover, the monthly confidence index is showing a decline of 42 points, reading 30 points for April. Previously, the National Association reported 70 points. Expectations that weren’t met when comparing results from the start of the year included single-home families and home sales. Still, despite the hardship in the industry, delays, halts, and layoffs, builders are building.
