Top Construction Projects in the US for 2020

Despite the setbacks in the first quarter of 2020 and delays in the industry of construction that arrived with the crisis, new and memorable construction projects are waiting on completion in 2020. While some of the top construction projects are awaiting completion, other projects are just starting. Let’s see what are some of the top construction projects for 2020 in the US.

    Upgrading New York City Transit

Upgrading the New York city transit is one of the most debated public projects among politicians, transit advocates, and groups of taxpayers. Give the fact that the transit system in New York city moves 3 billion passengers every year, the need for repair is near urgent. Contractors are already making proposals so the city might decide on the matter of choosing the best contractor by the end of 2020. There are no announced estimated costs by far.

    Renovating Denver International Airport

After delays that lasted for two years and over 160 million dollars in change orders submitted by the Great Hall, Denver International Airport renovations appear to be ready for new headlines in 2020. Termination fees should also weight around 120 million dollars, which should be paid out to the consortium. Denver International Airport decided to continue without P3, hiring Jacobs Engineering as a consultant. Without the termination fee, the total cost of the renovation project should be 770 million dollars.  Even though renovations commenced 2 years ago and are continuing in 2020, the final date of completion is estimated for 2024.

    Foxconn’s Wisconsin Manufacturing Campus

President Donald Trump announced the construction of Foxconn’s Wisconsin g manufacturing campus in 2017 alongside with Terry Gou, the founder of Foxconn Technology Group. The announcement stated that the company will be in charge of building a LED manufacturing plant at an estimated cost of 10 billion dollars. There has been a lot of excitement revolving around the opportunities the campus could bring to Wisconsin, however, concerns emerged regarding 3 billion dollars-worth tax incentives promised to Foxconn.  The construction is continuing in 2020, with 90% of the workforce found in Wisconsin.
